An ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) is a paperless visa with no
stamp or label in your passport. It is electronically stored and is accessible
to the airline and cruise ship check-ins as well as Australian immigration
authorities. You can submit applications directly through this web site by
clicking on the
Visa
Application
button and, in most cases, we will be able to approve your ETA in minutes.
The ETA is issued electronically by a computer system operated for the
Department of Immigration & Multicultural & Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA)
of Australia. All you need to do is enter the details from your passport and
your credit card information. The application is processed immediately.
Approved applications are electronically recorded on Australian Government
systems. When you arrive for airline or cruise line check-in for travel to
Australia, the check-in staff can electronically confirm that you have
authority to board.
